As of the 29th June 2017, the Standards for RTOs 2015 have been updated under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011.

How does this affect Trainers and Assessors?

Changes have been made to the following clauses relating to trainers and assessors = Clauses 1.11, 1.14, 1.15, 1.18, 1.23 and 1.24

This amendment states that from 31 March 2019, trainers and assessors MUST hold:

TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

OR

have the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment AND one of the following:

  • TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills or its successor or
  • TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills

AND one of the following

  • TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools or its successor or
  • TAEASS502A Design and develop assessment tools or
  • TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools.

This amendment has also seen some changes to the requirements for those participating in validation, to reflect these qualification requirements.

How do I upgrade to the new TAE?
