We’ve been getting some enquiries from clients about whether there is any requirement for trainers and assessors to upgrade their Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to the new TAE40116.
We’ve also seen some providers advertising that trainers and assessors need to get ahead of this before 2017 in order to comply with the Standards.
ASQA has not released any requirement for trainers and assessors to upgrade their qualifications.

Currently there is no RTO in the country approved to deliver the TAE40116.

RTOs are required to comply with the Standards for RTOs 2015 which still say that the TAE40110 is acceptable.

Should a change be made to the minimum requirements for a trainer/ assessor’s qualifications, ASQA would give RTOs sufficient notice so that trainers/assessors had a chance to upgrade, and transition arrangements would be made, such as they have been with every other change to the BSZ/TAA/TAE Training Package over the years.
