Plans to implement a Unique Student Identifier initiative across all nationally recognised training continue with a newly amended bill. The Student Identifiers Bill (first released in 2013) has been re-introduced by the Federal Government with some minor changes to form the new legislation: The Student Identifiers Bill 2014.
Changes of significance to VET providers and RTOs include:
- Revised commencement date: 15 January 2015.
- Changes to the administrative arrangements, to no longer include a separate stator authority. This has now been replaced with a simpler arrangement based on a statutory office holder model within a Commonwealth government department.
